Henry Cobbold is a UK-based screenwriter who sold his first screenplay “Green For A Season” in 1985. From 1987 to 1993 he worked in Los Angeles, where much of his work was produced by The Zalman King Company. Since 1993 he has combined his writing work with running the popular UK music venue and film location Knebworth House in Hertfordshire – in the top 100 of Simon Jenkins’ “England’s Thousand Best Houses” – and once home to his great-great-great-grandfather Edward Bulwer Lytton (1803-1873), the best selling English author of the 1830s and the first writer to begin a novel with the words, “It was a dark and stormy night…”. Alongside his screenplay work Henry has recently written the book & lyrics for the stage musical “Pre-Raphaelite: The Musical” and the two-volume biography of Edward Bulwer Lytton’s daughter “In the Bosom of Her Father: The Life and Death of Emily Bulwer Lytton”.
